Opportunities to conduct planned burns are increasing this week due to recent rainfall across the state with mild weather forecast over the coming week.

In the north-east of the state, large burns are scheduled near Big River State Forest and Mt Beauty. In the central highlands, high elevation timber harvesting regeneration burns are likely to proceed near Rubicon, Marysville, and Toolangi as well as the far east of the state. In the west of the State, a number of burns may be conducted near Ararat, Beaufort and also in the Little Desert.
